Installations
Charge Safely Overnight and Wake Up to a Fully Powered Battery.
Charging your electric vehicle (EV) with a standard 120-volt wall outlet is slow and inefficient. It often leaves you stuck relying on public charging stations. At Loch Monster Electric, we specialize in residential Level 2 Charging installations. We add a dedicated 240-volt circuit to your home, which provides up to 30 miles of range for every hour you charge.
As your local licensed electrician, we handle your entire home upgrade from start to finish. We do the panel load calculations and pull the city permits. We also provide the documentation you need to get local utility rebates here in Minnesota.
Want A Home Ev Charger Installation?
If you are new to EVs, the terminology can be confusing. Here is the breakdown
You shouldn't trust your home's electrical system to just anyone. Here is why Twin Cities homeowners choose us for their EV upgrades:
Who We Are
Time And Materials Pricing—So You Only Pay For What Your Job Actually Needs.
Licensed And Insured Electricians Who Treat Your Home Or Building With Respect

Local Folks Who Care About Doing Things The Right Way—Not Just The Fast Way
EV charger installs are the fastest-growing request we get. Ceiling fans are a close second, mostly because homeowners replace old ones and realize the wiring is not set up for a fan with a separate light kit. Smart home device wiring is also picking up as more people want their switches and thermostats to work correctly, rather than just be taped to a Bluetooth hub.
Sometimes. It depends on how much capacity your current panel has. We check your panel load before recommending anything. If there is room for a 50-amp circuit, you can add a Level 2 charger without touching the panel. If not, we will tell you upfront rather than sending you a surprise invoice mid-job.
Yes, as a licensed electrician, we pull all necessary permits. Permits are more than just paperwork. They act as a professional safety inspection to verify that your installation complies with local electrical codes. Additionally, having a permitted job is often a strict requirement for qualifying for local utility rebates, ensuring you don't miss out on those savings.
Yes, we specialize in outdoor EV charger installations. We use NEMA-rated, weather-resistant boxes and specialized conduit to protect your equipment from Minnesota’s climate. We also consider factors like snow, moisture, and mounting height to ensure your charger stays safe and easy to use, even during our toughest winters.
It depends on your preference. Plug-in units offer flexibility, so you can take the charger with you if you move. However, we often recommend hardwired units for outdoor use or high-amperage setups. They eliminate the risk of a loose plug connection and provide a more permanent, reliable power source. We are happy to help you compare these options based on your vehicle and your long-term goals.
You can do either. We are happy to install any charger you choose to purchase. If you aren't sure which model fits your vehicle best, we can recommend high-quality, reliable brands that work well with your home's electrical system. Let us know your preferences during your consultation so we can plan the installation around your specific hardware.
